This was just a quick colour piece created for the Silas_adore community at LiveJournal, a place for fans of the character Silas from The Da Vinci Code (Silas being, of course, the albino assassin and deeply religious monk of Opus Dei).
Although I felt that The Da Vinci Code was overly hyped, I read the book anyway and was intrigued by the character of Silas, whom I thought to be both in the wrong and misunderstood. Ultimately, a character misled by his faith.
A lot of the details for this were based on the character seen in the film (acted by Paul Bettany). Originally, I stuck to the film vision for the colour of Silas' eyes, the traditional albino blue hue, due to lack of pigment. However, the creative in me was annoyed over the issue of Hollywood always changing an artist's or author's character details around all the time, and so I ended up doing a red eye version too (to be more true to the book), which I wont be posting because its such a tiny change. Needless to say, the blue eyes gave him a much gentler facade compared to the seemingly demonic red and I can see why the movie producers decided to change them.
