‘When all has fallen to ruin and the world seems destined to darken, step forth and pass the threshold, for you must cross it alone. All your fears laid bare, pass all self doubt, for you shall face the darkness and find if you are worthy of victory.’

Heh, so what was at first intended to be a small digital painting exercise, soon turned into a complete, fully painted piece. I had meant to just open a blank canvas and try some mark making (as it’s a fluid and fun way to practice when it comes to painting digitally), but the idea for this composition had been floating around in my head for quite some time, and was finally realised in front of me. I think I’ve mentioned before how hard it is to paint in dark tones, especially when there’s the uncertainty of how it will be perceived on different screens, so if this is too light or too dark I apologise in advance, and blast the colour black!

Btw, Lancelot faces his ultimate adversary… I shall leave the painting to do the rest of the talking.
