Freckle

A piece of artwork created as a gift for Tracy, based on one of her Lackadaisy Speakeasy characters; Calvin ‘Freckle’ McMurray. Lackadaisy Speakeasy is set during the American Prohibition era and the characters, although cats, fit right in with the historical theme. I’m a sucker for cats and really wanted to attempt Tracy’s character, who comes across as a strange mixture between ‘the cute’, ‘the scary’ and, err… the ‘really scary’! I don’t think I quite managed the balance between innocent cuteness and unpredictable psycho as Tracy does, but I sure as hell had fun anyway! It also gave me the chance to hone some colour blending skills within Photoshop. So here’s Calvin, doing something that my mad Canadian friend used to do back in high school, twiddling the fingers Mr Burns style whilst giggling in an evil, manic sort of way.
