Hold Me Close by Leopreston Hold Me Close by Leopreston
This is a little gift piece for Kat ~Foxenawolf and Simon *Siman2000 of their characters in DEVIA [link] two wonderful people and fond friends. I feel like I've been neglecting so many friends recently and am often reminded that it's a sad thing to lose touch.

Kat and Si are often far too kind to me, kinder than I deserve really, and I hope that this expresses at least a little of my gratitude towards them. It's also a huge thank you to them both for the thoughtful things they've done. Kat sent me a goodie bag full of amazing DEVIA artwork a while ago (among other things) and Si also sent me an amazing Naval officer's coat last Christmas. I just couldn't accept so grand a gift, but, the thought alone was the best gift he could have given! :)

This piece was actually a labour of love for me too, as I ended up painting it twice! The first time, Photoshop tricked me into trusting it and then crashed before I could save (my bad), so it was a task and a half to start from scratch. Still, as I said, a thank you well worth the effort.

So here's to you Kat & Si and also other wonderful friends; David, Bryan, Kai, Sean, Cindy... far too many to mention here in fact. Remember that, even though I may not be around, I'm still thinking of you!

Such resplendent work! This piece is there a story behind it? It is magnificent. The close comradeship and bond is evident, and being Napoleonic War fanatic, the uniform is delightfully accurate and detailed!

You flatter me... far too much in fact! Well, I guess you could say that there is a story behind this piece. I mean the two people it was gifted to are an item, so visual affection is, as an invisible rule, a kind of must, but the characters are also from a webcomic that Kat herself has been working on. There's a link to this in the description (DEVIA). I'd highly recommend checking it out as it's well worth the read and interesting if you like Napoleonic history. :)

Nay, you are such exceptional artist.
It is somehow reminiscent in my view of "Master and Commander:The Far Side of the World"

I cannot thank you enough for introducing me to Miss Kat's work. It is brilliant to say the very least, and it delights, being the Napoleonic War fanatic I am!
