Thought Id try my hand at inking in Photoshop (the way it should be done!) Although its not the first time Ive attempted it, it is the first time Ive treated it so seriously.
On previous occasions I had always given up, not so much through lack of patience, rather, a lack of control. My little Graphire3 just couldnt handle the linework and would sadly let me down on this one thing. Now, however, I have Graphires younger sibling Intuos to play with and something that I have for a long time held to be such a daunting task, has now become surprisingly easier (you were right Kat, I was poor and deprived Guh!) Im finding that I now like the process of inking very much. Huzzah! Progress!
Btw, This is of course, one of the panels from the comic strip I uploaded recently which I thought would be a fine tester. Concerning the comic (if I can manage to stay inspired and move my ass that is) Im not sure as of yet if it would be coloured in this way or not. It might even work with a sketchy/parchment theme. Hmm needs much thought.
So yeah, Sweeney in colour red hair, pale face and eyes gleaming with cunning sort of
Sweeney: Just lickin my eye What! Mind your own damn business! Lol.
Oh wow! Nice job, Leo! Glad to hear the Intuos is working well! The inking looks super - what sort of brush do you use for it, btw? I've always wanted to do some proper inking but yeah... the Graphire3 just doesn't do it. And fox!Sweeney works so freakishly well!

You know... I never thought of putting the white highlights right along with the black... that's usually something I did last... I shall have to try that!
'Freakishly well', aha, my plan is falling into place then.
Btw, this was inked with a hard, round size 4 (suppose it depends on what size you are working to) brush with an angle jitter of 45%. Usually gives you some nice thin to thick lines. Probably best to just mess around with brush tip shapes until you find 'the one' for you.
Ahahahah... the Burtonesque Todd has black and white hair, because that is Burton's style... gothic undertones. The original Sweeney Todd however, was said to have had red hair, so this is what this is based on.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
