‘In the heart of Transylvania,
In the Vampire Hall of Fame - yeah!
There's not a vampire zanier than… Duckula!’
I wonder how many people will remember this guy.
I was recently reminded of this show when someone posted a list of old 80’s cartoons in their online journal. The titles on the list brought back many memories long forgotten and I could just hit myself for forgetting about Count Duckula. I loved that show so much that I remember insisting to my parents that I wanted a Count Duckula plush. They hunted high and low and finally found one. A couple of years later, I ended up donating him to the school fate, not knowing how rare he would become. I had kept him in excellent condition too (darn, why was I so naïve at that age?!) Anyway, The story has a happy ending however. I was browsing eBay a couple of days ago and came across him again, in mint condition. So, naturally, I had to have him and in doing so, would like to think that I have claimed a part of my childhood back at the same time!
So here’s one of my childhood memories; possibly one of the best designed (and voiced) characters of all time, as well as the only vegetarian vampire you’re likely to come across!

This is very beautiful! You captured the character just well in this picture. I didn't grow up with this cartoon but I still look back into the much older cartoons and I found this a few years ago. Darwking Duck, and Duck Tales are a few to name, nothing like the good old cartoons huh? In my personal opinion they had a great sense of humor back then, some modern cartoons have humor but it's not what it used to be.
